Title: Make Room for God

Make is a verb, an action word which means to create something. It is intentional with thoughts to plan, to prioritize, to be deliberate in building, constructing or crafting something envisioned.

We as believers must learn to make room for God in our lives. We must give God elbow room or space to dwell with us, acknowledging that He is the creator of space Himself. He created the universe and freely gave space to us, yet He looks for us to freely make room for Him. Creating a special room for prayer, devotion and mediation unto God. Matthew 6:21 reads; “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Whether we make room for Him or not, doesn’t change God. John 15:4-5 states; “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches.”  By free will we make room for God and He handles the rest. He will come. He will show up in unpredictable and unforeseen ways. Look for God to show up, but know that the way in which He shows up may surprise you. But you must be connected by making room for God.

Make room for God on the deepest level. Make room for God, not only in a physical space or room in your home or garden, but also within your spirit. Make room in your heart, mind and soul where God can come in and dwell. Open your home for your guest. Welcome and greet your guest to come in and stay a while. Sit down, relax and have a cold drink of water. Meaning welcome God into your heart, greet Him with a smile to come sit in your spirit with calm and peace to drink living waters that will sustain you to not thirst any more. Acts 2:38 tells us, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

As you anticipate God’s arrival, do so with hope in Jesus Christ and the fullness of His glory. Do so knowing that this is God’s desire, to dwell with you. Do so knowing that He will show up as He said in His word. Look for Him in the room of your heart.
